DECLARATION OF COMPLIANCE with
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Regulations:
- original RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC
- RoHS 2 Directive 2011/65/EU published in 2011
- RoHS 3 Directive 2015/863 published in 2015, adding four additional restricted substances (phthalates) to the original list of six.
In accordance with the RoHS Regulations and based on our suppliers’ information and to our best knowledge at the time this declaration of compliance letter was generated, we declare that our products are in full compliance with all RoHS Directives as stated above, and do not contain any hazardous substances in critical concentrations. In order to ensure that our our products are in full compliance with the RoHS Directives we work in close cooperation with our suppliers.
RoHS Regulations specify maximum levels for the following 10 restricted substances. The first six applied to the original RoHS while the last four were added under RoHS 3:
- Lead (Pb): < 1000 ppm
- Mercury (Hg): < 100 ppm
- Cadmium (Cd): < 100 ppm
- Hexavalent Chromium (Cr VI): < 1000 ppm
- Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB): < 1000 ppm
- Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE): < 1000 ppm
- Bis(2-Ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP): < 1000 ppm
- Benzyl Butyl Phthalate (BBP): < 1000 ppm
- Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP): < 1000 ppm
- Diisobutyl Phthalate (DIBP): < 1000 ppm

Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), establishing a European Chemicals Agency, amending Directive 1999/45/EC and repealing Council Regulation (EEC) No 793/93 and Commission Regulation (EC) No 1488/94 as well as Council Directive 76/769/EEC and Commission Directives 91/155/EEC, 93/67/EEC, 93/105/EC and 2000/21/EC.
In accordance with the REACH Regulations and based on our suppliers’ information and to our best knowledge at the time this declaration of compliance letter was generated, we declare that our products or packaging materials do not contain SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) above the threshold value declared in the Candidate List of SVHC (latest update 17 January 2022) published by ECHA (European Chemical Agency) in accordance with Article 59 (10) of the REACH Regulation.

The “Conflict Minerals Law” included as “Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Customer Protection Act” of the United States of America, requests to identify products which contain “Conflict Minerals”
Until today and based on our suppliers’ information, this is to declare that raw and semi-finished materials delivered to Khatod Optoelectronic Srl and needed for the production of Khatod ranges of models. i.e.:
Passive Optical Components for LED Lighting applications:

they do not contain substances called “conflict minerals” referring to CMRT 6.01 and to products called 3TGs.

Further to the EEC Directive 91/659/EEC of December 1991 adapting Annex I to Directive 76/769/EEC of July 1976 to technical progress, and in accordance with the Requirements contained in Ordinary Act n. 257 of March 1992 of the European Parliament – “Regulations regarding the cessation of the use, importation and exportation of asbestos and products which contain asbestos” –, the European Member States adopted and published the provisions necessary to comply with EEC Directive 91/659/EEC by 1st January 1993. Since 1st July 1993, the European Member States have applied these provisions.
The European regulations and legislation ban and forbid the use and marketing of asbestos.
Further to this and based on our suppliers’ information and to our best knowledge, we declare that asbestos is not used in the processing of, or contained in, any of our products or packaging materials.

– Do not handle or install lenses without wearing gloves, skin oils may damage lens or light transmission
– Clean lenses with mild soap and water and a soft cloth
– Do not use any commercial cleaning solvents on lenses
RECOMMENDED GLUES
The adhesives listed below work well to bond an optical component to a given PCB type. The adhesives listed also are generally safe to use with most LEDs on the market. We strongly recommend that every customer fully tests and takes the necessary measures to ensure that there is complete compatibility of the glue when used with his particular product, LEDs and other components. Testing and verifying of the adhesives and their combinations has always to be the customer’s responsability.

The optical values shown are the result of optical simulations carried out with ASAP and ZEMAX software systems.
The optical simulations are carried out on the basis of the typical values provided in the LED manufacturers’ official datasheets. The photometric analysis has been carried out on physical samples. On request, by supplying your PCB, we can provide the measurement photometric file.

Please note that flow lines and weld lines on the external surfaces of the lenses are acceptable if the optical performance of the lens is within the specifications.

Khatod Optoelectronic Srl, Milan, Italy, manufactures lenses for LEDs. Any other use of the lens shall void our liability and warranty. The lenses are an inert component to be used in the manufacture of various products. Our warranty and liability are limited only to the manufacture of the lens. You may not modify, copy, distribute reproduce, license or alter the lens and related materials of Khatod. Khatod does not warrant against damages or defects arising out of the use or misuse of the products; against defects or damage arising from improper installation, or against defects in the product or in its components. No warranty of any kind, expressed or implied, is made regarding the safety of the products. The entire risk as to the quality or performance of the product is with the buyer. In no event shall Khatod be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential damages, or any damages whatsoever arising out of or connected with the use or misuse of the product. Khatod Optoelectronic Srl shall not have any obligation with respect to the product or any part thereof, whether based on contract, tort, strict liability or otherwise. Buyer assumes all risks and liability from use of the product. The laws of Milan, Italy govern this product warranty and liability and you hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of courts in Milan, Italy in all disputes arising out of or relating to the use of this product. Production, marketing, distribution, sale of these products as well as their possible modifications and variations are only exclusive right of Khatod Optoelectronic Srl.
